The requirement for current fire protection plans for any premises is a compliancy for both insurer and National Building Regulation. These plans indicate the multiple elements pertaining to the premises fire protection. These elements include both passive, building structure, and active, fire systems to be indicated on a fire plan with the supporting notes indicating the compliance to the NBR’s.

Building fire protection plans must be submitted to the local authority for review for any new buildings or any alterations to a building. All fire protection designs are in accordance with SANS 10400-T and relevant supporting regulations and standards.
